I don't know if Fingerhut has shoes with velcro, but my sister bad arthritis, too. She buys these replacement shoe laces that are elastic. she replaces the regular shoe laces with the elastic laces and so she is able to just slip on her sneakers. She loves them! (She hates velcro!) I know that she has bought them at WalMart and Payless Shoe store. Good luck.

How accurate are the shoe sizes?
Normally in an expensive shoe I wear a 7 1/2, in a less expensive I have to order an eight.

They are just about on size, they may run just a tad bit narrow. Other than that they are GREAT ! ! !
