Yes, but tricky . first lock the pedals to the frame. the knob does pull out and then fold it up!

I have only been using my Gazelle for about 2 weeks now and I do notice the firming in my legs but also my waist feels like it is getting smaller from the "twisting" motion. I personally do the "jeans test" and if my jeans are fitting looser then I must be loosing weight! :)

Both, as it works the areas that tend to get fat, as it firms the legs and arms.
